Implants look, work and feel just like natural teeth
Do you have either missing teeth or teeth that are beyond repair? If so, then consider dental implants. Implants are lifelike artificial teeth that enable you to eat, smile and talk naturally and comfortably. An implant is composed of a titanium post, which functions like a tooth root, and a porcelain crown.
Implants can be used alone or in combination with other false teeth, such as for stabilizing dentures or bridges, making a full-mouth reconstruction more affordable.
With implants your quality of life is increased. You get teeth that feel completely natural and the ability to smile and chew, confidently!
Experienced, competent Dental Implant care
Dr. Feryal Alidadi has extensive advanced training and over a decade of experience with dental implants. This includes a year-long program on implant procedures at the renowned New York University, the largest private university in the United States.
Dr. Alidadi will guide and co-manage your implant treatment throughout the process to help make sure you get the results you’re looking for. To achieve the best outcome, Dr. Alidadi has partnered with an experienced local oral surgeon who places the implant’s post while she places the tooth-like restoration, which is also known as a crown.
Who can benefit from Dental Implants?
Implants are for people with teeth already missing or teeth that need to be extracted. With today’s technology, just about anyone can get implants.
Sometimes preliminary steps must be taken, like adding bone to the jawbone where bone has been lost or lifting the sinus to make room for the dental implant. Exactly what needs to be done, and any alternatives, will be evaluated by Dr. Alidadi.
What exactly is a dental implant?
A dental implant is made of a biocompatible, man-made substance and is the “gold standard” among dentists when it comes to replacing missing or heavily damaged teeth.
A titanium post is placed into your jawbone that acts as a replacement root and a new porcelain crown is placed on the post. This makes for a stable, natural-looking tooth that’s comfortable, strong and enables you to chew normally and smile with confidence.
Gone are embarrassing gaps in your teeth. Now you’ll have a natural-looking tooth that’ll let you smile freely and will aid in continued good dental health.
Our Dental Implant procedure
Dr. Alidadi will start with a comprehensive oral exam. She’ll evaluate what will need to be done, if anything, to prepare your jaw for implants. She’ll explain in detail about the implant procedure as well as review with you your other options to replace missing teeth.
Creating your new tooth
Once your titanium implant is firmly integrated with your jaw bone, Dr. Alidadi places a crown and a connecting “abutment” on it. She uses high-quality porcelain that’s extremely durable and has a lifelike appearance.
With this kind of careful planning, you can be assured of an implant that’s very long-lasting and fully functional, as well as natural looking.
Advantages of Dental Implants
- Implants fill-in unsightly gaps in your smile
- Implants deter bone loss that occurs when a tooth is lost. The titanium post fuses with the bone, thus preventing it from dissolving
- Implants allow you to chew and exert pressure just like with natural teeth
- Implants are longer lasting and more stable than other replacements for missing teeth, such as bridges or partials
- Removable dentures and fixed bridges usually need to be replaced every seven to fifteen years, compared to an up to twenty-year life span for implants.

Dental Implants for Denture Stabilization
Maybe you already have dentures and don’t want to invest in a full set of implants. By placing a couple of implants with snaps on the lower and upper arches of the mouth, dentures can be stabilized and improve the ability to chew while preventing slippage.
Implant Supported Dentures
With more implants, four to six for each arch, your dentures can be completely stabilized for the best results. Dr. Alidadi also offers aesthetic dentures that look just like natural teeth.
An implant-supported bridge is another option to replace missing teeth. Bridges unlike dentures are permanently fixed in place and act a lot like your natural teeth. And, unlike dentures, bridges are usually made of porcelain and not acrylic.
A bridge supported by implants is an alternative if you have missing teeth or are going to need to have teeth extracted. Costs for several implants to replace every failed tooth can be greatly reduced with implant-supported bridges. If you have three to four missing teeth, for example, a bridge can be created by placing two implants and using them to anchor that bridge.
